Aktual Indonesia - Neither Inter nor AC Milan managed to find a way to break their opponents' defence and the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final ended in a goalless draw at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday.
AC Milan started off better and took the initiative in the first 10 minutes when they came close to scoring twice. Alexis Saelemaekers received the ball inside the box and produced a first-time effort, but Samir Handanovic pulled off a great save to deny the Belgium international.
The Rossoneri piled the pressure on Inter and Olivier Giroud combined with Theo Hernandez, who sent the ball just wide of the left post.
Following Hernandez's missed chance, it turned into an end to end game, but both teams lacked a final pass and the two defences looked solid, clearing all balls that were coming their way.
Both sides created a few half-chances, with Inter mainly trying to threaten with dead balls and AC Milan pushing for a winner on the counter. However, they looked toothless in the final third and failed to create much in the second 45 minutes.
In fact, the two teams registered a total of just five shots on target, three of which came in the first half of the duel.
The second leg between the two city rivals and Serie A contenders will not take place until April 20.
